Contemporary Bathroom Remodel: Stunning Before & After Photos
You won’t believe this bathroom remodel transformation! We recently renovated this bathroom for homeowners in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. They wanted a fresh, contemporary master bath to enjoy.
The original bathroom was outdated, dark, and generally needed attention. As a result, the design changed dramatically. Here are the highlights of what we did for our clients:
- First, we switched around the layout completely
- The older toilet and vanity sink were replaced with contemporary options
- A custom walk-in shower replaced the old bathtub and shower combo
- The walk-in includes a new 3-part faucet system
- Finally, new contemporary lighting uses recessed lighting, a simple vanity light, and ceiling light

#2 – Vanity Refresh
Also, the older toilet and vanity sink were replaced with chic, minimalist options.
#3 – From a combo to a custom walk-in
A custom walk-in shower replaced the original bathtub and shower combo. Note the lovely subway tile and multiple built-in ledges.
#4 – New shower system
Additionally, the walk-in shower now has a fantastic 3-part shower system, with shower head and hand-shower. We love how sophisticated this looks now!
#5 – Contemporary Lighting
We mixed it up with recessed lighting, a simple vanity light, and ceiling light. The cohesive feel is partly because of similar circular shapes. The rounded mirror echoes nicely in the contemporary, circular ceiling light.
Finally, we gave the floor a facelift. Previously a shabby, worn tile, now these awesome hexagonal tiles add a simple pattern to the space.
