Stepping through the front door of this charming Lincoln Park townhome, your gaze is drawn to the soft blue of the kitchen cabinets ahead and the stream of light coming through the window. You wouldn’t know this small patch of square footage has had one of the biggest transformations.
A Closet Becomes a Powder Room
There was no existing bathroom on the main floor, making a powder room top priority. Designer Renata Malafaia enlarged a closet by six inches and maximized the space with a petite corner sink, bold wallpaper and an oversized mirror.
Maximizing the Kitchen
Designer Renata Malafaia went with Sherwin Williams ‘Stardew’, a soft, dusty blue with both cool and warm undertones, for the kitchen cabinets. Top Knobs ‘Dakota Colleciton’ hardware in honey bronze, Mont Blanc Quartzite countertops, and square zellige tiles for the backsplash achieve a perfect balance.

Sleek, black iron railings and a statement chandelier transformed the staircase.

A neutral color palette is given depth with a rich variety of textures and warming natural light, making this primary a calming retreat.

Hallway Bathroom
The upstairs hallway bathroom is the kids’ bathroom, but it was designed to be timeless with a nature-inspired color palette. The shower is adorned with Fireclay 3×6 tiles in ‘Rosemary,’ and Delta fixtures in Champagne Bronze pair beautifully with the green hues.
Basement Bathroom
This basement bathroom redo went from an afterthought to a focal point but it took reimagining the layout and adding wonderful details like a Becki Owens Catherine Vanity and the Davenport Knobs in polished nickel by Top Knobs.
