Jayson Home and Garden Has You Covered
If you are looking for a statement piece for your space, Jayson Home has got you covered. They sell everything from curated vintage goods, rugs, unique accessories, lighting, and even botanical arrangements. There is something for everyone. When you enter the store, you are greeted by a warm fragrant mix of pine and leather that invites you in to browse their bevvy of goods. There are two floors: the more furniture-focused top floor & the lower back area dedicated to vintage rugs. There is also the basement with its long arrangement of stunning coffee table books and throw pillows galore. Here are some great items we found in store that are sure to catch your eye.
Vintage rugs
Finding a unique rug that fits your space can be a challenge, but worth the investment once you find the one that is right for you. Jayson Home carries a wide range of vintage rugs that we love, their unique patterns and blemishes seem to tell a story as to where they came from. The rugs are produced in countries including Morocco, Iran, and Turkey. The most well-known and perhaps sought after are Moroccan rugs, known for their perfect blend of modernity in a range of color palettes in geometric patterns. Some are very subdued in their tones while others burst with vibrant color. These rugs are typically made of sheep’s wool and use plant or mineral based dyes to achieve their look. Rugs and textiles from Turkey are more of the flat weave variety, great for high traffic entry spaces. Another very popular style of rug available at Jayson Home are the Oushak rugs, with their graphic patterns that include a repeat of medallions from a larger center medallion and repeating on the border with smaller medallions. These rugs are some of the finest quality wools available and some of first rugs to reach Western markets.
Vintage Chairs
Jayson Home has a wide selection of vintage chairs that come in singles, pairs, or a set. The most common is the single chair, which can be a great accent piece in a foyer, office, or bedroom. In the foyer, it’s great to walk in and see a statement piece that will set the tone for the rest of your home. In the office, it’s great for light use as a desk or guest chair. In the bedroom perhaps, sitting next to your dressing room and used to take your shoes on or set out your outfit for the next day. The pieces we found range from a hand carved Louis XV chair with a beautiful blue mohair fabric to an Art Nouveau wood chair and a yellow metal chair upholstered with playful Dedar fabric.

Wicker Furniture
Wicker has been having a major resurgence in recent years and will likely be around for many years to come. It’s the oldest furniture making method known to man and is typically made with plant-based materials such as bamboo, reed, and rattan. Many people tend to use the words rattan and wicker interchangeably – however it is good to understand the method versus the materials it takes to build these pieces. Wicker furniture is known for its durability and can be used indoors as well as out (though best preserved in an indoor setting or even a covered patio or sunroom space). It adds texture and lends a relaxed feel to a seating area.

Burlwood and Malachite
Throughout the store, texture is created by natural materials such as burlwood and malachite. They look similar in pattern and are both equally stunning. Burlwood is celebrated for its spectacular wood grain pattern that is unique and beautiful (seen on the desk shown below). Burlwood is created from tissue on a tree that is damaged due to stress, fungal infection, injury or an infestation of insects. All those seemingly disastrous phenomena create unique knotty patterns that are cut into slabs and formed into all sorts of goods.
Malachite is another spectacular natural material known for its pattern of green banding that is known in the metaphysical community as a stone of wisdom, with ancient civilizations using it for jewelry. It is also known in architecture for the Malachite Room in St. Petersburg. Today, it’s used to make furniture and accessories as demonstrated by the mirror shown below.
