Kitchens

Kitchens are the heart of any home.  Contemporary kitchen design must meet the demands of food preparation as well as other activities such as eating, entertaining, storage, and home office work.  These multiple activities shape the bones of the design on top of which aesthetic considerations are laid.

Among the issues we consider in designing a kitchen are:

  • Stone countertop selection.  
    • Does granite, a quartz composite stone such as Silestone and Ceasarstone, or a marble or limestone surface best serve the client's aesthetic, functional and budgetary needs?

  • Cabinet selection and design
    • Cabinet Materials (wood, composites, stainless steel, aluminum)
    • Cabinet layout or custom cabinetry design.
    • Custom-kitchen eating nook built-ins, pantry built-ins, office built-ins.
  • Kitchen Hardware
    • Door pulls
    • Improved shelf access with a multitude Haefela hardware.
  • Flooring
    • Ceramic vs. Porcelain vs. Travertine vs. Granites vs. Hardwood.
    • Tile pattern
  • Lighting
    • Assessing general and specific light requirements for the kitchen's areas
    • Assessing the existing electrical layout and the cost of changes.
    • the creation of a lighting plan to locate can-lighting, pendant lighting, and recess lighting
    • Selection of lighting fixtures
  • Fixtures and sinks.
    • Evaluating the costs of moving plumbing fixtures to new locations.
    • Selection of plumbing fixtures and sinks.
  • Appliances
    • Evaluating the costs of moving appliances to new locations
    • Selection of appliances.
